Hi, I'm David Major — keyboard player, songwriter, producer, and performer, originally from Leeds and now based in the Norwich area.

My love for music started early. Classically trained on piano (Grade Vlll with distinction at 14), I've spent decades on stage and in the studio, playing to sold-out audiences around the world with Mickey Finns's T-Rex, the original 70's Paperlace, The Original Jukebox Heroe's and Les McKeown's backing band The Legendaries. Those years taught me how to connect with an audience and sharpened my ear for great songs.

For more than 15 years I've focused on songwriting and producton as part of two main writing teams. I've written many songs for other artists, including subissions for shows like Pop Idol and Eurovision.

Now at 60, I'm finally releasing and performing my own music.

I realised that my songs are mostly about the relationship we have with ourselves - Self-reflection, growth, vulnerability, and the real experiences that come with living fully at this stage of life. Influences range from Imagine Dragons, Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5 and Paulo Nutini to Eminem. The result is heartfelt, melodic pop with soul and a bit of an edge.

It's a little late in the day to step out as an artist…. but why not? As I sometimes joke, I'm aiming to be the oldest newcomer at the Brits one day. I'm having a great time doing it, and I'd love you to come along for the journey.

Whether you're streaming my tracks, thinking about collaborating, or just want to say hello — feel free to get in touch. Music is better when it's shared.

Thanks for stopping by.

David Major
